You can come anytime you are available. Please wear closed-toe shoes\, as the ground can be uneven\, and bring your own gloves if you have them. We also have some available. There is limited shade\, so plan accordingly. No experience is needed\, but healthy knees are important. \nAll the produce goes to our Soup Kitchen and the Pathways of Hope food bank “The HUB” in Fullerton.

DESCRIPTION:The St. Scholastica book group will meet on Sunday\,  March 8\, at approximately 12:30 p.m. in the Orange Room. We will discuss Brian D McLaren’s book\, ‘Faith After Doubt’. Below is a short excerpt from Amazon: \nSixty-five million adults in the U.S. have dropped out of active church attendance and about 2.7 million more are leaving every year. Faith After Doubt is for the millions of people around the world who feel that their faith is falling apart. \nUsing his own story and the stories of a diverse group of struggling believers\, Brian D. McLaren\, a former pastor and now an author\, speaker\, and activist shows how old assumptions are being challenged in nearly every area of human life\, not just theology and spirituality. He proposes a four-stage model of faith development in which questions and doubt are not the enemy of faith\, but rather a portal to a more mature and fruitful kind of faith. The four stages—Simplicity\, Complexity\, Perplexity\, and Harmony—offer a path forward that can help sincere and thoughtful people leave behind unnecessary baggage and intensify their commitment to what matters most. \nThen on April 13\, in partnership with EfM\, we will meet and discuss ‘God’s Joyful Surprise’ by Sue Monk Kidd. We will discuss the Intro and Chapters 1-8 and finish up the book on Sunday\, April 19 at around 12:30 p.m.  Both instances will be in the Fireside Room. \nIn this insightful and inspiring memoir\, Sue Monk Kidd remembers the beginnings of her spiritual journey\, and explores what it means to be called on an adventure of faith—one in which we finally experience how deeply and wholly loved we are by God. \nGod’s Joyful Surprise offers powerful insights about why devotion to God is more important than good works. Steeped in wisdom and written with poise and grace\, Kidd’s words will encourage others along their own spiritual paths. Strands of humor and warmth woven throughout make it a joy to read from beginning to end.
