It is easy to hear Jesus’ question as one about healing and leave it at that. In the context of this week’s gospel, it clearly is about the healing of an infirmity. Surely, anyone with an illness wants to be healed? What if Jesus’ question asks us to consider the moment or the day after we are made well? What is different now or how am I called to live differently?

Together with the story from Acts about Paul pushing boundaries, we are reminded that our journey of faith is rarely about yesterday but is always about tomorrow, about what comes next.
