Centering Prayer Opportunity for Lent

EVERY SUNDAY OF LENT, beginning February 18 10 a.m. – 10:45 a.m. In the St. Andrew’s Center for Spiritual Direction No experience with CENTERING PRAYER is required. Come and Be! We are a people in relationship. Families, friends, co-workers, neighbors. As people of faith, our most primal relationship is the one we have with God. For many, God has been judge, creator, savior, friend. Whoever God is for you, what we know to be true is that God WANTS a relationship with each of us. Imagine that? Lent offers us the opportunity to deepen our relationship with God and one another through prayer, fasting and almsgiving. For Lent this year, we, here at St. Andrew’s are offering a chance to pray together using the prayer method known as CENTERING PRAYER. The goal of CENTERING PRAYER is to attend to the natural intimacy with God deep within us. CENTERING PRAYER is one of my favorite forms of prayer. Nothing is required of me except to show up, quieting my mind, which tends to be pretty full most of the time with thinking and planning and worrying, trying to get ahead or stay afloat. On Sundays, we offer two in-person worship services: A quiet Holy Eucharist at 7:30 a.m. in the chapel and our full service with choir at 11 a.m. in our main sanctuary. Please join us! Lenten Evensong

St. Andrew's Episcopal Church 1231 E Chapman Ave, Fullerton, California

Evensong is a beautiful musical experience. Our voices, primarily through song, are lifted to God as the Holy Spirit draws close to us. The primary voice is that of our choir which will have grown with new voices recruited just for this service. Please consider adding this event to your Lenten observance on March 17 at 5 p.m. You will be glad you did.
